"Creatives for Climate is an collective of artists, educators and learning researchers that aims to create social change by sparking community dialogue around climate emergency and bring diverse community influencers together to explore questions like
What does healing –and climate healing– mean to me and my community? What are we doing to create a caring, fair and sustainable community? What can we learn from each other? What actions will prepare us to be strong as we co-create a fair and regenerative culture in our corner of the world, South Western Pennsylvania?
We use art and creativity as a vehicle to introspection and empowerment in community and provide information, tools, and connections to those working to improve our situation. Anything we can do to mitigate climate change and help people adapt to existing and future environmental, social and emotional turbulence will serve to strengthen communities in our region. Climate justice is racial justice, environmental justice and affects everyone. Marginalized communities, in our area and globally, are already disproportionately facing some of the harshest impacts of climate change. The same goes to air quality problems and issues related to the petrochemical build-out.
C4C invites people to do deep and yet playful reflections on what change means in our communities, and for each of us on a personal level, so we can collectively explore existential questions
Who do we choose to be now that the world is in crisis? What are we willing to do to create a future we want?"
